Emergency

Immaculate Heart of Mary School has a comprehensive emergency/earthquake disaster plan available in the school office.

In the event of an emergency no student will be dismissed from school unless a Parent/guardian (or other person designated on the Emergency Contact form) comes for him/her.

All parents or designated parties who come to the school should go to the command post, located in the vicinity of the boys' bathroom, and sign the student out.

Line up in front of your child's posted grade level (or the youngest if you have more than one Child), and once the secretary has taken your child's name a courier will be sent to the appropriate teacher in the assembly area. To maintain order and safety it is important that you don't go to the student assembly area.

Emergency Text Messaging Alert

The Belmont Safe Schools Text Messaging Alert System, allows students, parents, relatives & school staff to receive important messages from their school or from Belmont PD, over their mobile devices (cell phone, smart phone, PDA, etc.).

The system can be used to advise of school closures, traffic issues, and incidents on or near campus. Because it is a text message, which goes to a mobile device, subscribers can receive the message anywhere.

Subscribers can remove themselves at any time. This system received initial funding from the City of Belmont as part of its Disaster Preparedness efforts and is maintained through the Belmont Safe Schools Program.
